One of the major goals of the Knights of Rizal is the support and management of charity project in the Philippines. One which just has been started is the support of handicapped and deformed children who really need help to have at least a tiny chance to lead a decent life. This project requires a lot of funds which the Knights of Rizal provides gladly. The fund is called the "Knights Orthopedic Fund"
But this is not enough.
So when you are able to donate whatever small amounts you have available, please forward this to:
The Knights of Rizal, 204, St. Edmunds Road, Edmonton, London N9 7PJ, where the registered charity is based. Charity number 1064313. The monies will then be dispersed to a Trust Account held in the Philippines where a board of 5 trustees will sit. All operations will be done free of charge but we will pay for the prothesis and implants. There will be representation of the Knights in Manila by Sir Fernando Lim KR an Auditor, and also the chairman will be Dr. Jose Bautista, our (United
Kingdom's) Ambassadors Son.
Message (November 2003) from Sir Barry Bowman about the status of the projects:
The Order is delighted to inform everyone that another 100.000,00 pesos has been presented to the Orthopedic department of the Philippine General Hospital; to pay for operations through the Knights Orthopedic Trust headed by Dr Lito Bautista, son
of H.E. Ambassador Cesar Bautista.
It is also our delight to advise our Filipino friends that we have now passed the 25000 books total that has been sent to provincial schools for poor children and we have vowed to continue our projects which are so worthwhile.
