The Order of the Knights of Rizal

The Order of the Knights of Rizal is a civic, patriotic, cultural, non-sectarian, non-partisan and non-racial organization, which was founded for the purpose of studying the teachings of Dr. Jose Rizal, the Philippine national hero. The Philippine law recognizes it as an instrumentality by which the teachings of Dr. Jose Rizal may be propagated among all classes of people throughout the world to the end that they may emulate and follow his examples. It was enacted on June 14, 1951, becoming Republic Act 646.

It is imperative, that all Knights of Rizal must be familiar with the purposes and objectives of the Order. Knowing it provides a sense of direction for every member. Admission to the Order is not merely a ceremonial rite. It implies duties and responsibilities. The Knights have a mission to fulfill - foremost of which is, to study the teachings of Dr Jose Rizal, and to incalculate and propagate them among all classes of people who would want to follow his teaching and examples.

The Supreme Council Trustees headed by the Supreme Commander based in Manila govern this fraternal organization. The home office is located at the Knights of Rizal Building, Bonifacio Drive, Port Area, Manila.

Today, the Order of the Knights of Rizal has more than 180 chapters in the Philippines and more than 60 international chapters in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Israel, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Spain, the United Kingdom, the USA and Austria.
